2000 to present
Artwork and design in a wide range of mediums including print, web, video and interactive. Created solutions resulting in digital illustration, logo, identity, marketing and promotion. Professional correspondence with clients, project development and budgets.

Work closely with reporters to provide photography, video, audio, graphics and interactive solutions for reporting. Manages a team of photographers, designers and multimedia producers for the production of daily content. Responsible for managing a departmental annual budget. Serves as The Texas Tribune's creative director for marketing campaigns related to events, membership, and business departments. Provides proper use of visual identity and brand support for the organization through its visual communications.

Produced a variety of creative projects including websites, videos and experiential marketing for live events. Served as interactive producer for web projects that involved graphics design, programming and social media. Dealt directly with clients and provided creative proposals and budgets to address their needs. Organized and managed staff, interns and freelance for web and video. Maintained internal website and presentations for client reviews.

Creative direction for all marketing and and visual communication projects. Managed and provided support for production staff and freelance including video, graphic design, photography, web design and database projects. Worked closely with organization directors to find time and cost efficient media solutions. Pitched several statewide media campaigns and projects focused on improving youth education and fitness initiatives.

Artist Statement
Jacob Villanueva is an Austin based digital media professional and artist. He received his B.F.A. from The University of Texas in Transmedia and currently serves as Art & Multimedia Director at The Texas Tribune, a non-profit media organization. His creative projects involve video, photography and interactive installations. Villanueva allows the audience to participate with the artwork and sometimes the audience becomes part of it.
